How long does clear aligner treatment take?

Treatment time varies depending on the complexity of your case, but most patients complete treatment in 6-18 months. Simple cases may be finished in as little as 3-6 months.

Clear aligners are virtually invisible when worn. Made from clear, medical-grade plastic, they’re so discreet that most people won’t notice you’re wearing them.

For best results, aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day, removing them only for eating, drinking (except water), and oral hygiene.

You may experience mild pressure or discomfort for the first few days with each new set of aligners, but this is normal and indicates the aligners are working. The discomfort is typically much less than traditional braces.

Clean your aligners daily with lukewarm water and a soft toothbrush. Avoid hot water, which can warp the plastic. Special aligner cleaning solutions are also available for deeper cleaning.
